Two-digit number plate prices in the UAE

By UAE Number Plate Value · Sources checked:

Our reviewed two-digit evidence consists of six selected Dubai auction results. They give concrete transaction context while leaving major gaps for other codes and emirates.

What counts as a 2-digit plate?

Count only the main number. The Dubai letters, Abu Dhabi category or another emirate’s code remain separate parts of the identity. They are not added to its numeric length.

Without leading zeros, there are 90 mathematically possible 2-digit numbers per series: 9 × 101. That calculation is not a count of issued, available or transferable plates, and it does not determine a market price.

What the reviewed 2-digit sample covers

These results were published as highlights of RTA’s 118th and 120th auctions in 2025. They are completed reported sales, but selected highlights tend to feature expensive distinctive numbers. They do not describe every two-digit Dubai transfer.

Snapshot date: . Each group below keeps the emirate and evidence type separate. Sample medians require at least five records; the bounds are observed sample prices, not a typical market range.

BB 12 and AA 25 are not a controlled code-price comparison

The two plates changed code and number together. Their different results cannot reveal the standalone value of BB versus AA. Even within BB, the numbers 12, 19, 20 and 30 differ and were not all sold on the same date.

Read the full code before matching a two-digit plate. BB 12 has two digits, while B 12 is a different identity; the number of letters does not change the numeric length.

What about Abu Dhabi or the northern emirates?

The reviewed dataset does not contain eligible recent two-digit completed sales for those emirates. Applying the Dubai sample median to Abu Dhabi category 50 number 55, for example, would change the market and series without supporting evidence.

  • Start with the same emirate and complete series.
  • Compare sale dates and number features before using a sample median.
  • Use the asking price and the all-in purchase cost as separate figures.

An announced two-digit lot is not a sold-price record

An auction preview may name attractive two-digit lots without saying what a buyer eventually paid. Check the later results announcement before adding any amount to your sale comparisons. The auction archive keeps these evidence types separate.

Frequently asked questions

Does this table show the average price of all two-digit UAE plates? +

No. It shows selected published Dubai results. The sample excludes many codes, private transfers and other emirates.

Should I count BB as two more digits? +

No. BB is the code. BB 12 remains a two-digit number.

Can a live auction bid be used as a completed price? +

No. A live bid can change and is not proof of a completed outcome. Use a published result with a date and full identity.
